Vintage/Handmade and Hand sewn Hair Accessories (...and more)

So in case you haven't seen this via my facebook or etsy, I introduce you to hand crafted hair goodies made by Doris Herrera at Dodie's Corner

So who is Doris and why does she have my last name?         She's my crafty, clever and very detailed beautiful mom! I can tell you first hand how hard she works (not because she is my mom, but because really- she IS working quite hard on making each of these pieces become gorgeous little masterpieces for your hair!). The greatest part of her unique and fun hairpieces is that she uses vintage materials that cannot easily be found somewhere else. All of the headbands are truly wonderful for any age. :) Her headbands range from a mere $5 up to $35 for a more detailed and formal hair piece.

Check the "hair art" yourself!
The beaded art deco style headband to the right  is a classy accessory carefully sewn onto a lightweight and comfortable metal headband that has been wrapped with soft fabric. The detail isn't only found on the headband or on the beadwork, but by the fact that she makes sure everything is securely sewn on and sealed for years of use. The quality that you find on Dodie's Corner is truly one of a kind. (Classy Vintage Headband, $30)

Other notable items on her site are:

If you want to check out more of the phenomenal hair goodies that she makes, check out either the Dodie's Corner Facebook Page or the online shop here. To check out the hair accessories in person, join both Dodie's Corner and Herrdoghouse at the next Downtown LA Artwalk on June 10th. (Check out the next event info on the left bar under my picture for the details). We are going to be there all evening!

p.s. birdcage veil accessories are coming to Dodie's Corner soon! And if you have a custom hair accessory you would like made, e-mail Doris and get a free quote!

On another note, just want to say a special Happy Birthday to my mom <3 Today is her big day. :)

Lastly, I wanted to say a special thanks to Edwin, Kevin and Fern for all your help at the Rose City Rocks event this past weekend in Pasadena. You guys were so awesome for helping out in everything you did! :) Can't wait til June 10th! :)

Have a GREAT memorial day weekend everyone!

hugs and kisses-
n
